Membership Benefits

First and foremost, Copenhagen GAA is a football and hurling club. However, we hope that our members gain much more than exercise when they join! Below is a sample of some of the key benefits that our members enjoy. For more information, feel free to contact us.

-> Become Part of Community

  • Watch soccer, football and hurling with our club members
  • Christmas Party
  • Summer BBQ
  • Race nights (virtual horse racing at Kennedy's, which includes some real betting)
  • Quiz nights

-> Cheap Beer!

Our sponsors, Kennedy's Bar, kindly offer reduced rates to members for a selection of beers, so club members can enjoy the cheapest pint in Copenhagen !

-> Travel around Europe

We usually play 3 regional tournaments (in Norway, Sweden, Finland or Estonia) and 2 EU tournaments each year. The team travel together, usually for a weekend so it is a great oportunity to enjoy some different European countries with friends. The club often subsidises your travel expenses, depending on the number of people travelling and the cost of the trip.

-> Regular Exercise

Enjoy weekly training with the rest of the club. Training is held in English and the aim of our weekly session is to enjoy a competitive group session of Gaelic football.

-> Value for money

When you become a member of Copenhagen GAA, we provide a number of services that help you with your daily life in Copenhagen.

  • We help our members to find a home to rent in the city
  • When in need, our members have free access to the short-term loan of a club bike
  • Receive discounted prices to rent, repair or buy a bike at the shop of our biking partner

-> A Taste of Home for Irish Expats

If you miss those Father Ted one-liners, the 6 nations rugby, or the summer debates about the football and hurling championship, then Copenhagen GAA is for you.

-> An English Speaking Club for International Expats

If you are an expat in Denmark and you would like to be part of an English-speaking club, then come along and try out some Irish football. We are happy to teach you the skills of the game. If you have played soccer before, then you won't take too long to adjust to Irish football.
